Welcome to the revamped artSynk site. My mind, like life is forever in flux as such, so is my website. Times and the state of the net will change rendering this out of date, but for the time being... I'm happy here.

The tabs above will give you an overview and brief sample of my artWork. I, obviously, recommend you checking out everything, but, the summaries will help you better decide what work you'd like to check out and what you feel you could skip. There are links to sections of the site in the related tab. The image which appears when the tab is clicked will also take you to that section. And, of course, at the very top of the page you will find links to everything.

I have dubbed my newest (most recent) work "photo Painting". The evolution to the work I create now began when I was struck with a whirlwind of inspiration in 2008. This was followed by an influx of models interested in helping me further my work which was all too soon followed by an influx in Time.

The greatest difference in this post-2008 work is in the process. I began to create more painterly (hence the new name). I began to not just cut and paste, but merge and blend in ways which felt more akin to painting than photography. I also began to place merge the figure further INTO nature than before. My earlier electronic Photography work placed the figure ON the background. Now, I create in a way which blends human form elements and nature elements into a symboiotic equality. The tone and palette of the new work can be a little darker, but yet much more full of Hope.

Before my current photo Painting, I called my work electronic Photography. This name was born from a rebellion against the term "digital photography" which infered the use of a digital camera. At that time digital photography had not yet yielded enough pixel depth for my taste. I still made use of latent images and scanned them into the computer.

These pieces still stand the test of time and some are still some of my favorites, the only changes between them and my more recent photo Painting work come in the mindset I find myself when I create and the fact that I now use digital cameras.

Pretty much since I was old enough to string multiple words together, I have been a poet. It is in my blood, it is in my soul. It is who I am.

Just like my visual work, some of my poems dive deep into ancient religions and mythologies, some are more political, some are fanciful flights of fiction, some are more nature based and some are the stuff of LOVE.

I began as more of a 'Poe meets Frost' poet, casting shadows in the light and shedding light in the darkness. Everyone views their world in a different light. I don't set out to change anyone's mind, simply to open the reader to a new perspective. My poetry has evolved over the years; become more introspective, more personal, yet using subject matter to which the reader can relate.

In this section you will find the paintings from my Mirror on America series. They are a bright and colorful bit of serious frivolity. They deal with serious subjects like driveby shootings and inter-ratial lesbian relationships, in a fun and Pop Art manner. I have not created in this style since the mid-nineties, but I still believe they hold the same impact they had when I created them. I will say the 2-D photos don't come close to the 3-D experience of experiencing them live.
